My writing class prompt yesterday was Loneliness/Aloneness. What we do in class is use the prompt and let go of whatever shows up as we write for 35 minutes. What is interesting is memory is kind of untrustable. For example, my memory of what happened the night we met the Stones happened is so different in my memory from what I wrote after it happened. It was not until reading it over after all these decades that what really happened came back to me. Knowing this, I have to imagine that my memories of my childhood and teen years are also untrustable! They have been turned into a kind of hard stone, which writing is shattering into pieces.
Interesting prospective on how we look back at our past! What’s the old saying ~ “We remember what we want to remember”, as we all do to some extent, try to protect our psychic! I was the first person in junior high to were paisley pants, and was always a ladies man, and lived to talk in a English accent to those accommodating girls… It was the only thing I ever liked about school, because I couldn’t wait to get home to play sports with the neighborhood kids! Never played sports in school, but turned heads in gym class, as teachers or other guys realizes I was athletic! I followed much the same path as you Linda, as I began to form friendships with guys and girls who were free spirits ~ Much in the same way I was… I was given time to find my way by my parents, and eventually cultivate what I was good at ~ I have no regrets to speak of, especially not now! I have my Flower 🌹and life has been good to me Linda🌹🌅❣️
"The lonely are the brave." And I bet you me and Trina would have been a trio. And my Mama was married 5 times. I just told people that she LOVED a lot. And $5 a lid. Yes and I can still hear my co-mama with the top from a Shoe box and the seeds rolling down. Much like the tears from my face rolling down. And much of the time. "Cry Me a River" and we can meet at the Ocean and make more Linda. In fresh & warm blue waters.
Wonderful read! Enjoyed it .
Great story! Just read it aloud with my daughter over dinner! Xoxo
